Random date
Draws dates between two given ones, with the days you do not want left out.
It runs entirely in this browser tab: the seed is what makes a draw repeatable, nothing is uploaded, and no list you paste is stored anywhere.
Settings
- From
- The first date that may come up.
- To
- The last date that may come up.
- Days
- Choices: Any day, Weekdays, Weekends.
- How many
- A number from 1 to 100.
- Allow repeats
- Off means each one comes up at most once.
- In order
- On or off. Starts on.
- With the weekday
- On or off. Starts on.
- Form
- The machine form sorts; the written one reads. Choices: Machine form, Written out.
- Seed
- A word or a number gives the same draw every time. Empty draws a fresh one and shows it.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the box above, or open a file.
- Adjust the settings beside it until the result is what you wanted.
- Copy the result, or save it as a file. The result updates as you type.
Questions
- Can I get the same draw again?
- Yes, and that is the point of the seed. Type a word or a number into it and the answer is the same every time; share the link and everybody gets that draw. A fresh draw shows the seed it used, so you can pin one you liked after the fact.
- Is this random enough for a prize draw?
- For a raffle among friends, yes. For anything where somebody could gain by predicting it, no: this is an ordinary pseudorandom generator and anybody who sees one of its draws can work out the others. It says so on every result.
- Is anything I paste in stored?
- No. The list you paste stays in this tab, and in the link if you choose to share one. There is no account, no server and no history kept anywhere.
- Why are the built-in lists English?
- Because a translated list is a different list. A question that works in a room, a joke team name, a pet name — each is written by somebody who speaks the language rather than copied through a table. The interface speaks thirteen languages; where a list matters, the tool takes yours.
